Robo Igbu is an expert in renewable energy, climate finance, and investment development with over two decades of professional experience spanning fast-moving consumer goods, commercial banking, tech startups, and development finance institutions. He currently serves as the Nigeria Country Manager for Empower New Energy, a clean energy investment company, where he leads the regional deployment of commercial and industrial solar assets.
His extensive background includes serving as a program manager for solar market development and finance at the International Finance Corporation (IFC), as well as early career roles at prominent organizations like Citibank, Nestlé, and Jumia. A frequent speaker at regional energy panels, Robo holds an MBA in International Business from Brandeis University, a B.Sc. in Agriculture from the University of Benin, and is a Certified Expert in Climate & Renewable Energy Finance from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
